Packaging Operator I

Key Responsibilities

In this role, your primary duty will be operating pharmaceutical packaging equipment safely and efficiently while maintaining strict cGMP and standard operating procedure (SOP) compliance.

• Machine Operation: Hands-on operation of automated or semi-automated packaging machinery (starting/stopping machines, adjusting settings, clearing jams, and monitoring sensors).
• Production Support: Loading components (bottles, caps, labels, cartons) and checking torque, seal integrity, and label alignment.
• Maintenance & Changeovers: Performing batch-to-batch and product-to-product changeovers, cleaning machines, and conducting basic preventative maintenance.
• Documentation & Compliance: Correctly labeling statuses at all stages, completing production documents/batch records accurately, and ensuring line clearance before initiating packaging activities.
• Cross-Functional Support: While primarily a Packaging Operator, you may occasionally support Warehouse, Manufacturing, or Facilities Operations.

Must-Haves & Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum 1 year in a regulated manufacturing environment with direct exposure to cGMP environments.
• Machine Expertise: Verifiable experience operating machinery. Preferred machine experience (even outside of pharma) includes: Bottle fillers, cappers, labelers, blister pack machines, cartoners, case packers, shrink wrappers, automated inspection, or serialization systems.
• Work History: A stable work history with an average tenure of at least 2 years per role.
• Education: High school diploma or equivalent is required (accredited college certificate or university degree is a plus).
• Skills: Proficient in English (speaking, reading, writing) with the ability to follow written SOPs daily. Strong mathematical and organizational skills.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to frequently lift, bend, carry, push, or pull objects (continuously exerting up to 5 lbs of force, frequently up to 25 lbs, and occasionally up to 50 lbs using a hand truck).
• Ability to wear appropriate PPE, including respiratory devices (e.g., Air Purifying Respirators, half/full-face negative pressure respirators, or Supplied Air Respirators).
