Cable Technician II / Structured Cabling TechnicianLocation: Austin, TX

Job OverviewWe are seeking experienced
Cable Technicians to support commercial structured cabling projects throughout the Austin area. This position is responsible for installing, dressing, labeling, and testing copper and fiber optic cabling systems while ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to quality standards.
The ideal candidate will have experience with structured cabling installations, including Cat5, Cat6, and fiber optic systems, and be comfortable working in active construction environments.
Responsibilities- Install, route, pull, and dress copper and fiber optic cabling
- Label and organize cabling according to project requirements
- Assist with material management and job site organization
- Install cable tray, wireway, buss duct, receptacles, and supporting infrastructure
- Build and outfit telecommunications closets
- Mount backboards, racks, patch panels, cross-connects, and fiber hardware
- Perform cable terminations, including 110 and 66 blocks
- Install grounding for racks, equipment, and cabling systems
- Assist with conduit installation and wire pulling activities
- Utilize hand and power tools safely and effectively
- Carry and climb ladders as required
- Maintain compliance with all safety policies and site procedures

Qualifications- Experience installing structured cabling systems in commercial environments
- Knowledge of fiber optic and copper cabling standards
- Experience working with hand and power tools
- Ability to read and follow installation instructions and project requirements
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Reliable transportation and dependable attendance
Physical Requirements- Regularly lift and move up to 40 pounds
- Frequently lift and move up to 25 pounds
- Carry and climb ladders up to 20 feet
- Stand and walk for extended periods
- Work in commercial office and construction environments
- Work in tight or confined spaces when necessary
- Ability to safely operate equipment such as:
- Scissor lifts
- Boom lifts
- Telehandlers
- UTVs (buggies)
Work EnvironmentThis position supports commercial construction and business office projects. Candidates should be comfortable working in active construction environments where noise levels are moderate and physical activity is required throughout the day.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $23.00 - $25.00/hr.
