About the Role

We are seeking an elite-level Cisco Resident Network Engineer (RNE) to support a highly critical production network environment within a large-scale financial services enterprise. This role is heavily focused on day-2 operations, operational stability, incident response, production support, and maintaining uptime across complex enterprise infrastructure supporting thousands of users and mission-critical applications.

The ideal candidate is not simply an architect or deployment engineer. This is a hands-on production operations role for someone who has lived in high-pressure enterprise environments where outages carry real business impact, executive visibility is immediate, and operational discipline matters.

This engineer must be comfortable operating inside mature enterprise processes including incident management, change control, escalation management, root cause analysis, and operational governance.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a senior production support engineer for a large-scale Cisco enterprise network environment
• Provide expert-level troubleshooting and operational support for complex routing, switching, wireless, WAN, and data center networking issues
• Act as a senior escalation point during high-severity incidents and production outages
• Lead technical triage efforts and drive rapid restoration of services during critical incidents
• Perform deep-dive root cause analysis (RCA) for recurring or high-impact network issues
• Support 24x7 operational environments with participation in escalation rotations and maintenance activities
• Execute and support production network changes with strict adherence to change management procedures
• Validate network stability and operational readiness before, during, and after maintenance windows
• Partner closely with NOC, engineering, security, server, cloud, and application teams to resolve cross-functional issues
• Monitor network health, capacity, utilization, and performance trends across enterprise infrastructure
• Identify operational risks, technical debt, and recurring failure points within the environment
• Develop and maintain operational documentation, troubleshooting procedures, and recovery runbooks
• Work directly with Cisco TAC and strategic vendors during major production incidents
• Mentor junior engineers and provide operational leadership during escalations Enterprise Production Networking
• 10+ years supporting large-scale enterprise production network environments
• Extensive operational experience supporting:
• Mission-critical enterprise infrastructure
• High-availability networks
• Multi-site WAN environments
• Data center production operations
• Large user populations in regulated environments
• Strong understanding of operational resiliency, failover behavior, and outage mitigation strategies 

Qualifications

• Active Cisco CCIE certification strongly preferred
• Prior experience supporting large financial institutions, banking, trading, or similarly regulated enterprise environments strongly preferred
• Exceptional troubleshooting and communication skills under pressure
• Strong operational mindset with focus on uptime, resiliency, and customer impact
• Ability to communicate clearly during executive escalations and production incidents
• Strong documentation and operational process discipline 

Preferred Experience

• Financial services or capital markets experience
• Experience in 24x7 enterprise production support environments
• Exposure to SD-WAN technologies
• Basic automation/scripting experience (Python/Ansible preferred)
• Experience supporting cloud-connected enterprise networks
