Java / Spring Boot / AI developer

Werner Consulting Group is a Denver based tech staffing firm.  We have a client looking for a full remote Java / Spring Boot developer for the position shown below.  This position is full remote and is a long term contract position that could go years.  This position will be for an AI project where the developer will be building out the AI stack.

We are seeking a Senior Java Developer with Spring Boot experience who will be responsible for an AI innovation project.  Candidate will be developing the AI stack.  Cloud is Google Cloud Platform but experience with any cloud platform is good.

• Cooperate with the back end DB developers in the process of building the RESTful API.
• Communicate with external web services.
• Work with the Business Analysts to review and understand the business requirements and functional specifications.
• Work with client and database developers.
• Participate in architecture, design and code reviews.
• Design and document using plantUML, MS Office, HTML, Wiki markup etc.
• Work with QA and CM team for code build/releases, test case design and defect resolution.
• Work with Team Lead/Project Manager/Architect for planning, estimation, documentation and status reporting
• Mentor other teammates on Java design and development.
• Any other tasks necessary for completion of project deliverables and application support
• Excellent communication skills.
• Be able to adapt and contribute to a fast paced and agile application development.
• Adhere to project schedules, proactively resolve and or escalate issue to management.
• Experience with working with offshore teams a plus.

Design skills

• Highly skilled in Middle Tier Application architecture and design.
• Experience in developing applications with heavy transaction volume.
• Highly skilled in OO and heavy use of Design Patterns

Programming skills

• 6+ years of Java, JavaScript, SQL, and XML development experience
• 6+ years of Spring and Hibernate
• 2+ years of ActiveMQ
• 4+ Years of Spring 4 and Spring Boot
• Event driven architecture
• Understanding of Software Requirements
• Understanding of Software Development Process
• Object-Oriented Design (OOD)
• Strong Software Debugging skills
• Be able to provide documentation
• Ability to perform Unit Testing
• Oracle experience a plus
• Oracle AQ understanding a plus
• Tomcat experience a plus
• Extensive knowledge of Elastic Search
• Extensive knowledge of Kafka
• Extensive knowledge of Micro Services
• Build, customize and modify use cases
• Oracle experience a plus
• Oracle AQ understanding a plus

• Agile/Scrum experience a plus
