Job Summary
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior IBM Sterling Integrator / EDI Developer to design, develop, implement, and support enterprise-level EDI and integration solutions.
The ideal candidate will have 8 10+ years of hands-on EDI experience with strong expertise in IBM Sterling Integrator 5.2.6 or above, business process development, EDI mapping, partner integrations, and production support.
The candidate will work with globally distributed teams, provide technical leadership, troubleshoot complex integration issues, and ensure development follows established technical and architectural standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform solution-level technical analysis, design, development, and implementation of EDI integrations.
- Develop, maintain, support, and monitor IBM Sterling Integrator environments.
- Develop and maintain Sterling Business Processes / BPML.
- Design and develop EDI maps using X12, EDIFACT, XML, cXML, CSV, JSON, and Flat File formats.
- Develop and maintain integrations using FTP, SFTP, AS2, VAN, and related communication protocols.
- Participate in integration testing, defect resolution, and production support.
- Translate solution designs and architecture guidance into scalable technical implementations.
- Troubleshoot complex integration issues and perform root-cause analysis.
- Ensure code quality, consistency, documentation, and adherence to development standards.
- Participate in technical design and architecture discussions.
- Conduct code reviews and provide technical guidance to development teams.
- Mentor junior developers and collaborate with globally distributed teams.
- Serve as a technical escalation point for complex development and production issues.
- Support implementation planning, coordination, and delivery activities.
- Learn and adopt new technologies, tools, and frameworks as required.
Required Skills
- 8 10+ years of hands-on EDI development experience.
- Strong experience with IBM Sterling Integrator 5.2.6 or above.
- Strong experience developing, maintaining, supporting, and monitoring Sterling Integrator environments.
- Hands-on experience with Sterling Business Process / BPML development.
- Strong EDI mapping experience with ANSI X12 and EDIFACT.
- Experience with XML, XSLT, cXML, CSV, JSON, and Flat Files.
- Strong knowledge of FTP, SFTP, AS2, and VAN.
- Proficiency with DB2 and SQL.
- Experience with Web Services and APIs.
- Strong understanding of EDI integration architecture and enterprise integration patterns.
- Knowledge of encryption, security, authentication, authorization, logging, and monitoring.
- Understanding of scalability, clustering, high availability, and traffic management concepts.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with distributed teams.
Preferred Experience
- Experience in supply chain, logistics, manufacturing, retail, or related EDI environments.
- Experience supporting high-volume B2B integrations.
- Experience with Sterling production monitoring and incident resolution.
- Experience providing technical leadership and mentoring.
- Experience with implementation planning and technical solution design.
