Summary

We are seeking an experienced Staff Project Engineer to lead technical execution across complex engineering programs involving software, FPGA, hardware, systems, and manufacturing teams. This role is ideal for an engineer who has progressed into technical leadership and enjoys driving cross-functional projects from requirements through delivery.
The successful candidate will serve as the technical coordination point between engineering disciplines, ensuring programs remain on schedule, technical risks are identified early, and requirements are successfully executed.
Responsibilities
  • Lead technical execution for complex engineering projects and product development initiatives.
  • Review customer requirements, specifications, and technical deliverables to ensure successful implementation.
  • Coordinate activities across software, FPGA, hardware, systems, and manufacturing teams.
  • Drive project schedules, technical milestones, dependencies, and risk mitigation efforts.
  • Facilitate communication between engineering stakeholders and leadership teams.
  • Identify technical gaps, integration challenges, and execution risks while developing mitigation plans.
  • Monitor progress and ensure alignment between project objectives and engineering activities.
  • Support technical planning, resource coordination, and project forecasting.
  • Participate in design reviews and provide guidance on technical execution and delivery strategies.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 10+ years of engineering, technical leadership, project engineering, or technical program management experience.
  • Strong technical understanding of software, FPGA, hardware, embedded systems, communications systems, or related technologies.
  • Experience leading cross-functional engineering teams and coordinating complex technical projects.
  • Ability to evaluate technical estimates, architecture considerations, integration risks, and project dependencies.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience working within structured product development environments.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Background as a Software Engineer, Systems Engineer, Electrical Engineer, Technical Lead, or Architect prior to moving into project leadership.
  • Experience supporting communications, networking, embedded systems, aerospace, defense, satellite communications, wireless, or high-performance computing environments.
  • Technical Program Management or Project Engineering experience within multidisciplinary engineering organizations.
  • Experience working with requirements management, risk management, and engineering lifecycle processes.
Ideal Candidate Profile
  • Strong engineering foundation combined with project leadership experience.
  • Able to communicate effectively with highly technical teams while remaining focused on execution and delivery.
  • Comfortable influencing software, FPGA, hardware, and systems engineers without direct authority.
  • Thrives in fast-paced environments where priorities, schedules, and technical challenges must be actively managed.
  • Enjoys solving complex technical coordination and execution challenges rather than serving solely in a customer-facing program management role.
This opportunity offers the chance to work with advanced technologies while driving the successful delivery of innovative engineering programs across multiple technical disciplines.
