Role SummaryThe
Security Compliance Architect is accountable for the
security architecture, threat modeling, and compliance posture. This role serves as a
mandatory Phase-0 security gate, with authority to approve or block any agent or collector before it is permitted to access production environments.
The architect designs and governs
cryptographic trust models, secure identity and authentication, data integrity controls, and enterprise secrets management to ensure all agent-based data collection is secure, auditable, and compliant with enterprise and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Act as the Phase-0 security authority and signatory for all agent and collector architectures.
- Own and maintain the Collector Agent Layer threat model, defining trust boundaries, attack surfaces, and acceptance criteria.
- Design and govern secure identity and trust architectures, including mTLS/PKI and Kafka authentication and authorization.
- Architect data integrity and tamper-detection controls using HMAC, replay protection, and validation patterns.
- Define secure Vault and secrets-management integrations, including rotation, access controls, and audit requirements.
- Ensure designs meet enterprise security standards, regulatory expectations, and audit requirements.
- Partner with engineering and platform teams to embed security-by-design and mentor teams on secure agent patterns.
Qualifications & Expertise- 7+ years of experience in security architecture and threat modeling for distributed or agent-based systems.
- Strong expertise in PKI, X.509, mTLS, cryptographic trust models, and Kafka security (SASL/SCRAM).
- Proven experience designing HMAC-based integrity and tamper-detection mechanisms.
- Enterprise experience with Vault or centralized secrets-management platforms.
- Solid understanding of zero-trust, least-privilege, and defense-in-depth principles.
- Experience producing security artifacts for risk, compliance, and audit audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to operate as a formal security gatekeeper balancing rigor with delivery velocity.
- FinOps Certified Practitioner or Professional preferred.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $70.24 - $70.24/hr.
