Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and precision-driven CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) Programmer to join our team in San Diego. In this role, you will be responsible for developing, optimizing, and executing advanced inspection programs to ensure compliance with strict aerospace quality standards. If you have hands-on experience dealing with high-precision components and thrive in a cutting-edge manufacturing environment, we want to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities

As a CMM Programmer, your daily impact will include:

  • Program Development: Develop, edit, and optimize robust CMM programs using industry-standard software (PC-DMIS, Calypso, or MCOSMOS).

  • Precision Inspection: Perform detailed dimensional inspections of complex, tight-tolerance aerospace components, including turbine blades, vanes, rotors, stators, and casings.

  • Blueprint & CAD Analysis: Expertly interpret complex engineering drawings, 3D CAD models, and advanced GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) specifications.

  • Compliance & Documentation: Conduct First Article Inspections (FAI) in strict accordance with AS9102 standards and generate detailed quality reports.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with manufacturing, quality, and engineering teams to troubleshoot dimensional discrepancies and resolve process issues.

  • Equipment Maintenance: Ensure the proper calibration, maintenance, and optimal functioning of CMM equipment.

  • Continuous Improvement: Support initiatives aimed at enhancing inspection cycle times, efficiency, and measurement accuracy.

Required Qualifications

To excel in this role, you should bring:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related technical field (equivalent hands-on experience will also be strongly considered).

  • Experience: 3+ years of dedicated experience as a CMM Programmer within the aerospace or gas turbine manufacturing industries.

  • Software Expertise: Advanced proficiency in CMM programming software (such as PC-DMIS or Calypso).

  • Technical Skills: Deep, foundational knowledge of GD&T application and blueprint reading.

  • Material Familiarity: Experience working with high-precision components made from superalloys, titanium, and composites.

  • Standards Knowledge: Solid familiarity with AS9100 / AS9102 quality management systems and standards.
