Job Summary

This role will focus on designing and maintaining scalable, maintainable, and integrated automation frameworks across UI and API layers, leveraging modern tools such as Playwright and TypeScript while enabling seamless CI/CD testing integration.

The SDET will also support manual testing efforts within Agile feature teams, guiding test case design, exploratory testing, and quality validation for areas not yet automated.

This role plays a critical part in enabling feature teams to own both automated and manual testing, ensuring faster, more reliable, and higher-quality software releases.

Primary Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Agile feature teams to understand user stories, define acceptance criteria, and promote a test-first mindset during planning and refinement sessions.
• Design, build, and maintain automation frameworks using Playwright (preferred), TypeScript, or other approved enterprise tools.
• Support both UI and API automation testing initiatives.
• Lead the migration from legacy frameworks (e.g., Selenium + Java, Postman/Newman) to modern automation frameworks aligned with CI/CD strategies.
• Partner with developers and QA engineers to ensure automated tests run within CI pipelines, providing fast and actionable feedback.
• Develop and maintain automated API tests (REST/SOAP) and end-to-end test scenarios.
• Support manual testing activities, including:
• Test case design
• Exploratory testing
• Validation of complex workflows not yet automated
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to test architecture and automation design decisions.
• Write and maintain SQL queries to validate data integrity and support test data creation strategies.
• Maintain traceability between requirements, test cases, and defects.
• Ensure compliance with enterprise policies including security standards, audit readiness, and HIPAA guidelines.
• Act as a quality engineering advocate, mentoring team members and promoting continuous QA improvement.

Hands-on experience with Playwright (TypeScript ) or similar frameworks such as Cypress.

• Experience migrating from Selenium + Java or Postman/Newman to modern automation frameworks.
• Strong experience in API testing (REST / SOAP).
• Familiarity with DevOps environments and CI/CD test automation integration.
• Experience with test reporting, dashboards, and quality metrics.
• Experience with test case management tools, such as:
• qTest
• QMetry
• TestRail
• Strong SQL skills for validating data and managing test datasets.
