Procurement & Finance Operations Manager - Onsite

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce's start up client is looknig for a Procurement and Finance Operations Manager for an onsite role in Menlo Park, CA.

Overview:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Procurement & Finance Operations Manager to own purchasing, inventory management, and financial operations across our laboratory and equipment environments. This role will be responsible for ensuring we never run out of critical materials, managing capital equipment purchases, maintaining financial discipline across budgets, and implementing scalable procurement processes as we grow.
This is a high-impact role that sits at the center of lab operations and financial stewardship.

Key Responsibilities:
* Manage purchasing of chemicals, specialty gases, lab consumables, and operational supplies
* Maintain inventory systems and set reorder thresholds
* Prevent stockouts of critical materials
* Build and manage supplier relationships
* Negotiate pricing and contracts
* Capital Equipment & Vendor Management
* Coordinate procurement of lab equipment and capital assets
* Manage quote comparisons and vendor evaluation
* Track capital expenditures vs approved budgets
* Ensure timely equipment delivery and documentation
* Generate and track purchase orders
* Match invoices to POs and ensure approval workflows
* Track spending against budget (monthly reporting)
* Build and maintain operating and capital expenditure models
* Partner with leadership on financial planning
* Implement and improve procurement workflows
* Maintain documentation and audit readiness
* Develop reporting dashboards for spend tracking
* Improve financial and operational controls as we scale

REQUIREMENTS:
* 5+ years of experience in procurement, finance operations, or lab operations
* Experience in hardware, manufacturing, lab, or technical environments strongly preferred
* Strong understanding of budgeting and cost tracking
* Experience with PO/invoice systems (e.g., NetSuite, QuickBooks, SAP, Ramp, etc.)
* Highly organized with strong attention to detail
* Comfortable working cross-functionally with technical teams

Nice to Have:
* Experience in chemicals, materials science, or hardware startups
* Experience setting up procurement systems from scratch
* Experience with grant budgeting/reporting
* Basic financial modeling skills

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
