Job Title: Project Manager
Location: Lansing, MI (Onsite/Hybrid as applicable)
Duration: Contract
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead and oversee enterprise-level initiatives in a structured project environment. The selected candidate will be responsible for establishing and monitoring project controlling methods to ensure timely awareness of changes impacting cost, quality, and schedule.
This role requires strong planning, staffing, reporting, and coordination skills across the full project lifecycle from initiation through closeout while adhering to established project management methodologies and governance processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish and monitor project controls to track cost, schedule, scope, and quality.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans, staffing models, and status reports.
- Direct and coordinate day-to-day project activities, deliverables, and team efforts.
- Ensure alignment with organizational project management methodologies and prioritization processes.
- Provide regular reporting to stakeholders and executive leadership.
- Identify risks, resolve issues, and manage changes effectively.
- Facilitate meetings, working sessions, and stakeholder communications.
- Contribute to overall departmental objectives through additional operational support as needed.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional experience in project management or related field.
- Strong knowledge of Project Management principles, methodologies, and best practices.
- Experience with system development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies for new systems and enhancements.
- Understanding of data infrastructure and governance fundamentals.
- Knowledge of data communications and information systems hardware/software environments.
- Ability to work effectively within matrix organizations and cross-functional teams.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to resolve competing high-priority requirements and build consensus among stakeholders.
- Experience conducting training sessions and informational briefings.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working within government or public sector environments.
- Experience serving in multiple related roles such as Project Manager, Program Manager, Coordinator, or Executive-level liaison.
