Job Description:

Background

Client is a manufacturer of pharmaceutical products with plants located in multiple areas of the world.
They are designing and deploying Artificial Intelligence solutions for Operations documentation, under the AIDA (AI Document Assistant) program.
Client needs a solution architect that will support the individual projects in the AIDA program to ensure there is a unified architecture.
The architecture should also allow for future scalability and extensibility.

There is an existing technology stack that will be used:

AWS
Dataiku
Veeva Vault (document repository)
Various LLM tools

Timeline

The current timeline is for a resource to be available starting in the next 4 weeks.
The effort will start with a 6-month engagement.
This will include time for discovery and initial documentation followed by developing and deploying the architecture for the various AI document solutions.
100% Allocation.

Role and Support

The Solution Architect will serve as the technical leader for the AIDA program. This individual will act as the primary point of contact for architectural and technical design questions and will provide guidance and direction to delivery teams, without direct people management responsibilities.
This role carries decision-making authority for solution design within the AIDA program, operating under the oversight of an clientfull-time employee.
The solution architect will have support from various client team members including:
Supervisor role for regular touchpoints to ensure resource is executing the appropriate work as desired;
Resource from OBI as the technical lead, helping to get up to speed on data sources, technologies, existing client data standards;
Resource from architecture COP, providing guidance on client best practices as needed;
Resource to create process documentation;
A Program Manager/Scrum Master to coordinate between the Solution Architect and members of the client organization.

Role Profile

This role requires both strategic and hands-on engagement.
The Solution Architect will contribute to the AIDA roadmap and architecture standards while actively supporting day-to-day solution design and implementation efforts.

Scope

Solution Architecture: Design scalable and secure AI architectures for document generation, auditing, and standardization by leveraging client-approved technology stack.
Technology Evaluation: Support the evaluation and selection of appropriate AI/ML models, NLP frameworks, and related technologies for document-centric automation.
Requirement Analysis: Collaborate with business stakeholders to analyze requirements and translate them into technical specifications for AI-driven document solutions.
End-to-End Implementation: Oversee the lifecycle of AI solution development through to deployment.
Innovation and Roadmapping: Stay updated on AI advancements and advocate for new opportunities to enhance document automation and quality within the enterprise.
Documentation and Training: Maintain comprehensive architecture documentation and provide technical guidance or training to teams involved in document assistance projects.
Technical Debt: Champion the design and implementation of maintainable, modular, and extensible AI solutions. Proactively identify, document, and address areas prone to technical debt by adhering to best practices in architecture, code quality, testing, and documentation.

Qualifications and Experience (Level III)

5–7 years of experience in solution architecture, application architecture, or senior technical design roles.
Experience designing and implementing cloud-based solutions (AWS preferred).
Experience working with AI/ML, NLP, or LLM-based technologies in enterprise environments.
Familiarity with document management platforms such as Veeva Vault preferred.
Strong understanding of secure, scalable, and compliant system design principles.
Experience translating business requirements into technical architecture and specifications.
Ability to work effectively in a matrixed, cross-functional enterprise environment.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Pharma and Operations experience preferred.
