Wellington is expanding its engineering team and seeking experienced engineers to contribute to the IBOR (Investor Book of Record) platform. This role combines strong backend engineering with modern AI assisted development practices.
We are looking for engineers who can effectively leverage AI tools (e.g., Claude Code, GitHub Copilot) across the SDLC-design, development, testing, and production support-to deliver high-quality, scalable systems.
The ideal candidate is a self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment, collaborates well across teams, and continuously adapts to evolving technologies and workflows.

responsibilities:
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, deploy, and support IBOR platform components
- Build scalable, high-performance backend services using Java, Spring, and SpringBoot
- Collaborate with Business Analysts and stakeholders to translate requirements into solutions
- Work with PMs, Tech Leads, and QA on estimates, delivery, and risk management
- Align solutions with enterprise architecture and engineering standards
AI-Integrated Development
- Use AI tools (Claude Code, Copilot) to accelerate development and improve quality
- Apply AI across the SDLC:
o Code generation, refactoring, and optimization
o Test development and automation
o Debugging and production issue resolution
o Documentation and knowledge capture
- Identify opportunities to improve productivity through AI-assisted workflows
qualifications:
Qualifications
- 6-10+ years of experience in Java-based systems development (Java 11+; current stack Java 21). Good understanding of core java APIs.
- Solid understanding of concurrency, multi-threading, and high-performance systems
- Experience with Spring, SpringBoot and building REST APIs
- Exposure to WebSockets and performance testing (e.g., JMeter) is a plus
