Job Description

Our vision is to enable profitable growth to Aramark's Accounts by providing them with analytical assets that meet their needs as effectively and then efficiently as possible. To achieve this vision, Aramark will deliver strategic data assets that enable our operators to maximize the hospitality experience for our consumer and clients.

We are seeking a Sr. Data Engineer who will work collaboratively with our enterprise and line of business stakeholders to continue the evolution of our enterprise data platform. The successful candidate will design, build, and deliver cloud-native, service-oriented products that transform our data ingestion, processing, and business intelligence capabilities.

Job Responsibilities

Reporting to the Principal Data Engineer of Cognitive Data Services, this role will work closely with Enterprise and Line of Business technology teams to deliver modern data products.

The role is accountable for:
  • Design and implementation for high-performance data product components.
  • Building robust data ingestion framework(s).
  • Synchronizing data across on-prem and cloud-native technologies.
  • Developing scalable data/ML processing pipelines.
  • Managing sprint tasks and deliverables.
  • Implementing and enforcing data engineering best practices.
  • Mentoring data engineers in best practices and professional development.
  • Leading technical discussions and decision-making processes within the team.
  • Contribute to the strategic direction of data engineering initiatives and projects.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 7 years of software development experience in the data domain
  • Proven expertise in:
    • Python
    • CI/CD
    • Advanced SQL
    • Cloud platforms (Azure/AWS)
    • Data modeling
    • ETL/ELT processes
  • Apache Spark and real-time streaming experience.
  • Experience in high influence models guiding teams/groups of diverse professionals and managing operations in a distributed organization.
  • BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent experience.

Excellent communicator with the ability to influence technical and business stakeholders
