Data Center Cable Puller

Job Description

We are seeking entry-level to junior-experienced Data Center Cable Pullers to support large-scale fiber infrastructure projects at multiple data center facilities. This role supports a major fiber upgrade initiative where existing coax cabling is being replaced with fiber optic cable.
Technicians will be responsible for pulling high volumes of fiber, assisting with terminations, and supporting structured cabling installations in a data center environment.

This is a long-term opportunity for individuals looking to grow their career in the data center or structured cabling field.

Location

On-site at multiple data center locations in the Reno, NV area
(Candidates must be able to travel between sites as needed)

Schedule

• Monday-Friday
• 40 hours per week

Duration

• 6 months (with strong potential for extension or contract-to-hire based on workload and performance)

Key Responsibilities

• Pull and route fiber optic cable in data center environments
• Assist with fiber termination and installation
• Support structured cabling projects (Cat5, Cat6, coax, fiber)
• Use hand tools safely and effectively
• Work across multiple data center sites as project needs require
• Follow site safety, quality, and installation standards

Required Skills & Experience

• 3-6 months of hands-on cabling experience (data center or telecom/central office preferred)
• Experience pulling cable (fiber, Cat5/Cat6, or coax)
• Familiarity with structured cabling or low-voltage systems
• Comfortable working with hand tools
• Ability to work in a data center environment

Preferred Skills

• Fiber optic cabling experience
• Prior data center work
• Experience in structured cabling or telecom installations

Work Environment

• On-site data center environment

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
