Summary

HI,

Role:
Location: San Francisco, CA Hybrid
Work Arrangement: Hybrid — Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday onsite; Monday and Friday remote
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM

Position Overview

We are seeking technically strong data analytics professional to support Uber’s Employee Relations (ER) team. Although the position is titled Program Manager II, the role primarily focuses on hands-on data analysis, research, reporting, visualization, and analytical systems.

The ideal candidate has strong SQL skills, experience with Tableau and complex datasets, and the ability to automate reporting, investigate data trends, and communicate actionable insights to stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of professional experience in data analytics, data analysis, business intelligence, data science, or a closely related field.
  • Strong, hands-on SQL proficiency with the ability to write and work through SQL queries independently. Candidates must be comfortable completing a practical SQL technical assessment.
  • Demonstrated experience with Tableau, including dashboards, data visualization, or analytical reporting.
  • Strong experience with Google Sheets for data analysis and reporting.
  • Hands-on experience cleaning, validating, transforming, and analyzing complex datasets.
  • Experience implementing automated reporting, data-quality checks, or validation processes.
  • Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to explain analytical findings, calculations, and technical work clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience in a quantitative, analytical, or technical field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with BigQuery or similar data querying platforms.
  • Familiarity with Cursor or AI-assisted analytical workflows.
  • Experience with HR analytics, People Analytics, Employee Relations, workforce data, or related research.
  • Familiarity with case management systems such as Oracle or Case IQ.
  • Exposure to audit, compliance, operational quality, or data-governance frameworks.
  • Experience partnering with engineering teams, data analysts, or technical program managers.
  • Experience handling sensitive or confidential data.

Important Candidate Considerations

  • This is a hands-on technical analytics role, not a traditional program management position focused primarily on budgets, timelines, and project coordination.
  • Strong practical SQL proficiency is essential; listing SQL on a resume without demonstrable hands-on experience is insufficient.
  • Candidates should be able to demonstrate experience with Tableau, data quality, reporting automation, and analytical problem-solving.
  • Candidates who automate routine reporting and use the time saved for deeper research and insights are especially desirable.
  • Prior HR or Employee Relations experience is not mandatory. Strong analytical capability and an interest in research and people-data problems are more important.
