2.1. Approach
To accelerate implementation of SAP EWM for the customer, the project team will rely on SAP Best Practices and the SAP EWM Baseline Industry Template as a starting point. We are proposing the SAP Best Practice content, which includes pre-packaged, ready-to-use, end-to-end reference solutions. The SAP Industry Baseline Template delivers additional pre-built functionalities frequently requested by customers, helping reduce costs, decrease risks, and accelerate adoption. We expect the customer will adopt the SAP Best Practices embedded within the SAP Extended Warehouse Management (EWM) software solution, transitioning from the legacy Catalyst WMS to a modern, RF-enabled warehouse management platform.
2.2. SAP Activate Methodology
For the Services in this Order Form, the project team will use the SAP Activate methodology. SAP Activate is the consumption experience for SAP S/4HANA implementations. It combines SAP Best Practices, methodology, and guided configuration to enable customers to start fast, build smart, and run simple. For this project, this timeline maps the warehouse assessment findings into actionable implementation phases, covering the transition from the legacy Catalyst WMS to SAP Extended Warehouse Management.
Implementation activities are organized into the following SAP Activate phases:
Discover (Completed): In the Discover phase, the project team conducted a 3-day warehouse walkthrough (May 18 20, 2026) to understand current warehouse operations and identify transformation opportunities. Key deliverables include the EWM Assessment Report, Current State Documentation, Scope Recommendations, Risk Register, and a Development Backlog (12 items).
Prepare: In the Prepare phase, the project team confirms scope decisions (GTS out, DG in, serialization out), decides warehouse modeling approach (single vs. dual EWM), assigns master data responsibility and collection templates, establishes project governance and the SAP EWM development landscape, and defines the Catalyst cutover strategy framework.
Explore: In the Explore phase, business process leads will conduct fit-to-standard workshops to validate SAP EWM standard processes against customer requirements and design the target solution. Workshops cover: receiving & HU management, putaway & zoning, replenishment, wave & picking, VAS/manufacturing integration, Dangerous Goods, returns & QC, and inter-site/prologis operations. Delta requirements are identified and prioritized on a backlog.
Realize: In the Realize phase, the team executes time-boxed agile sprints. Each sprint includes EWM configuration, development of backlog items, integration testing, and validation. Critical prototypes include early-morning wave + pre-replenishment, cart-based HU inbound, VAS kit-to-stock, and DG labeling. Volume testing covers peak loads (04:00 06:00), 95K skus, 120K bins, and RF performance under load.
Deploy: In the Deploy phase, the team conducts data migration (95,042 material masters, 120,000 storage bins, 6.5M pieces inventory), Catalyst cutover execution (freeze window, inventory snapshot, parallel run validation, open order migration), shift-based training (Shift 1: 136 hourly; Shift 2: 38 hourly; 30 salaried), RF device reconfiguration, label printer setup, and go/no-go decision gate.
Run: In the Run phase, the team supports hypercare and stabilization, enables EWM Monitor + Fiori tiles, continuous improvement including wave template optimization, replenishment strategy tuning, cross-docking scenario enablement, dealer EDI/DESADV capability expansion, and Prologis future RF/wifi evaluation.
