Job Description:
• Seeking one contract manager to assist the IT contracts team with researching current agreements, license usage, expiration, and ensuring compliance with current agreements and applicable policies.
Minimum Job-Specific Skills/Qualifications Required (in order of relative importance):
• Bachelor’s degree in information systems, accounting, supply chain management, communications, public administration, or a related field OR equivalent experience.
• 3 years’ hands-on experience with contract management, specifically software licenses.
• Ability to perform contract usage evaluations, write clear findings, and create prioritized remediation plans based on compliance with current policies.
• Experience supporting audits, compliance reporting, or formal review processes (internal controls, risk tracking, corrective action plans).
• Proven ability to lead (not just participate): facilitate working sessions, manage a backlog of fixes, track compliance progress, and report statrisks.
• Strong communication skills: can explain accessibility issues to non-technical content owners in plain language and provide actionable detail to technical staff.
Additional Skills/Qualifications Desired:
• Knowledge of the Contracting Manual, State Contracting Manual, or State Administrative Manual.
• Experienced at establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of the work.
• Excellent understanding of software license and contract management.
• Recent experience within government agencies or public-sector bodies with projects of a similar type.
Tasks and Responsibilities to be Performed:
• Research all current agreements, match resellers to individual products, and track agreement end dates, maintenance renewal requirements, and software license use requirements.
• Create a mechanism for tracking contract and license end dates, along with information on responsible parties.
• Prepare and deliver monthly reports on upcoming renewals to project managers.
• Provide license usage reporting to the IT administration manager with mitigation plans for usage outside current agreements.
• Work with the senior business systems analyst on tracking agreements, their renewal dates, and funding requirements.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
