Location Requirement: Hybrid: Resource will be working a hybrid schedule. NO REMOTE ONLY OPTION. Will need to be onsite from day 1, two days a week (required inperson days are Tuesdays and Wednesdays) - Please note, the first month of work will be onsite 5 days/week for onboarding.

This position functions as part of an Agile team with heavy understanding and usage of the Azure DevOps tool as part of the required skillset. System Analyst 3 is responsible for gathering, documenting, and testing clear, unambiguous business requirements from the client. Understanding the business requirements thoroughly to communicate business needs and system functionality to technical and non-technical stakeholders, project team members, and the user community. The System Analyst serves as the ScrumMaster (heavy usage of Azure DevOps tool) on projects and coordinates with the PMO s Project Manager for artifacts/documentation needed on State of Michigan projects.
The System Analyst is responsible for working with the project team and stakeholders to examine existing and future-state business processes, data, and systems. This information is used to guide the gathering of business requirements and executing test cases as they relate to the desired system functionality.
Responsibilities
- Gather, analyze, and document business and functional requirements.
- Develop process flows, use cases, and user stories with clear acceptance criteria.
- Translate business needs into technical specifications for development teams.
- Create test plans, test scenarios, and detailed test cases based on requirements.
- Execute functional, integration, and regression testing; log and track defects.
- Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and coordinate with business partners.
- Validate that delivered solutions meet documented requirements and quality standards.
- Collaborate with developers, project managers, and business stakeholders to clarify requirements and resolve issues.
- Assist with system demonstrations, training materials, and production validation.
- Ensure documentation remains accurate and updated throughout the project lifecycle.
Required Qualifications:
- Experience as a Business Analyst (3+ years) - Please note, candidates must have both BA and QA experience.
- Experience as a Quality Assurance Analyst (3+ years) - Please note, candidates must have both BA and QA experience.
- Azure DevOps Knowledge or similar tool like JIRA (comfortable with creating epics/features/user stories for projects as well as moving cards through project lifecycle) (3+ years)
- Understanding of BA, QA, DEV roles/responsibilities
- Experienced with as-is/to-be processes and content creation (3+ years)
- Experience with creating product roadmap (3+ years)
- Familiarity with Project Management Methodologies/Agile (3+ years)
- Adept with using BA tools (e.g., FIGMA, Visio) (3+ years)
