  • Conduct annual reviews, provide feedback, training, and career guidance to develop future engineering leaders
  • Ensure that the Engineering Labor Forecast, used by the business, accurately reflects Basis-of-Estimate commitments across all NPS product lines
  • Initiate, develop, and lead engineering efficiency and other continuous improvement efforts
  • Organize, lead, and motivate technical teams in the design and development of challenging products and systems including budgeting, project selection, execution oversight, and alignment with business objectives
  • Develop project plans and pre-contract proposal estimates
  • Confidently and competently represent DRS in front of customers, including the US Navy
  • Collaborate with other departments, DRS locations, and suppliers to solve problems and develop cost- effective, high-quality solutions
  • Lead project engineers in the management of programs using standard EVM tools, analysis, and reporting exhibits, Variance Analysis, Root Cause and Corrective Action, and Risk and Opportunity Proactive Management to ensure programs remain on schedule, on budget, and meeting technical requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Systems, Software, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering
  • 5+ years of experience managing technical teams, preferably Project Engineers.
  • Proven experience leading product development across the full lifecycle, from concept through qualification and fielding
  • Experience leading the design, development, integration, and delivery of complex systems or subsystems
  • Strong knowledge of program management methodologies, including Waterfall, Agile, and Earned Value Management (EVM)
  • Demonstrated ability to lead root cause analysis, corrective actions, and risk/opportunity management
  • Experience in conceptual designs, technical documentation, and budget estimates for bids and proposals
  • Strong leadership, mentoring, interpersonal skills and team development skills, with a high degree of ownership and accountability
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced engineering environment
  • Experience with DoW programs and military standards preferred
