Role Summary
We are seeking a highly technical Digital Product Manager to support backend services across the enterprise. This role requires hands on ownership of product strategy, requirements, API design considerations, and technical integrations. You will partner with engineering teams to translate business rules into system logic, influence architectural decisions, and deliver backend capabilities that power customer experience and digital operations.
This position is ideal for a product manager who began their career in analytics, business analysis, or development and has since grown into full stack technical product ownership.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead end to end product ownership for backend systems including requirements, roadmaps, dependencies, and cross functional integrations
• Translate business rules into technical requirements and backend logic
• Collaborate closely with Java and Python engineering teams to design endpoints, APIs, and service level interactions
• Define product strategy, success metrics, KPIs, and long term technical direction
• Work across digital teams to ensure alignment, integration, and customer experience consistency
• Evaluate incoming requests and prioritize based on strategy, capacity, and technical feasibility
• Drive product delivery using modern software development practices
• Support seamless API and SDK integrations across enterprise systems
• Communicate technical concepts clearly to both engineering and business stakeholders
• Participate in architecture discussions, system design reviews, and platform improvement initiatives
• Mentor junior product team members and support collaboration across UX and engineering
• Maintain product documentation, technical flows, and integration requirements
Key Requirements
• 6 plus years of experience in technical product management with full end to end product ownership
• Strong technical foundation with the ability to converse confidently with backend engineers
• Experience supporting systems built in Java and Python environments
• Prior background in analytics or business analysis or development strongly preferred
• Proven experience defining and implementing business rules into backend systems
• Strong experience with APIs endpoints and technical integration design
• Retail industry experience highly preferred
• Loyalty program experience is a strong plus
• Ability to manage complex dependencies and operate in an engineering driven culture
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate technical decisions and tradeoffs
• Must be able to work onsite five days per week
• W2 candidates without need for sponsorship only
• Bachelor’s degree required MBA or advanced degree preferred
