This onsite operations engineering role involves supporting the remote network surveillance and troubleshooting team responsible for monitoring, testing, maintaining, and restoring the 5G RAN network. The candidate will drive Tier II Field diagnostic and outage restoration efforts, support new 5G site deployments, and mentor Tier I NOC staff. The position requires working in a high-stress environment to ensure network stability and performance.

Provide onsite field operational support to detect incidents, troubleshoot problems, and implement resolutions with deployed 5G Core, RAN, Transport, and other network systems nationwide.

Quickly analyze RAN service and system issues, determine corrective actions, and restore services, escalating complex issues as needed.

Provide ticket information on the corrective actions implemented, including hardware resets and network function restarts.

Contribute to process improvement reviews, identifying automation opportunities and efficiency enhancements to increase service uptime.

Work collaboratively with Tier II NOC Engineers, Comcast Tier I NOC technicians, Field Ops Technicians, vendors, and leadership.

Document incidents in the Comcast ticketing systems and manage escalation processes.

Engage and escalate issues with vendor Care support teams and internal performance engineering teams.

Enter/update Trouble Tickets with technical details and coordinate troubleshooting, maintenance, or hardware replacements.

Support site monitoring and health checks following maintenance activities.

Collect traces for network faults using vendor-specific tools and network probes.

Collaborate with technical teams to document troubleshooting steps and improve processes.

Produce updated technical specifications and comprehensive plans for system changes.

Define business and system requirements for new technology implementations.

Support solution processes aligned with future CI/CD, system orchestration, and automation initiatives.

Support network outage responses outside standard business hours, working in an 8x5 schedule.

2 years of Transport Knowledge and Troubleshooting (Backhaul, Fronthaul)

Complete Construction Site Pre-Walks with the Local CM Team, Evaluate and Validate each Location for Operational Safety

Verify and correct Method of Procedure (MOP) documentation for production activities

Advanced knowledge of cell site topology, Transport, and RF KPIs

Understanding of 5G RAN split functions (7-2x, RU, DU, CU, CP, UP) and virtualized ORAN systems

Ability to read RAN artifacts (CIQ, Network Diagram, call flow documents, Deployment MOPs)

Ability to use ticket tracking services
