Data Management is an essential driver of complete, timely, accurate, and transparent reporting.
As an industry leader in data management, UBS is continually evolving its data practices, and within the UBS Bank USA Chief Data Office we're looking for the right individual to help us adapt, execute and evolve the Bank's Data Management Framework (DMF) implementation, with a focus on streamlining and governing the Bank's approach towards data risk.
In this role you will:
ensure ongoing adherence to the Firm's data management policy, framework, and related guidelines
support Bank USA Data Forum and represent BUSA interests/requirements in peer divisional, functional, and group-wide data governance structures
act as a key point of contact on data matters
drive remediation of data quality risks & issues, collaborating with business and technology partners
review/Assess UBS Bank USA data risk appetite statements/assessments, relevant data control effectiveness results, independent data testing results, operational events and issues in partnership with our business risk managers and operational risk control officers
support Data Owners and Stewards in the execution of key responsibilities including validation of controls, data quality assessments, data quality issue triage
drive analysis and implementation of end-to-end data lineage across key data assets to ensure transparency, traceability, and compliance with the Data Management Framework and regulatory expectations for prioritized reports, models and processes.
coordinate the assessment and governance of Bank owned AI use cases to ensure compliance with the Group AI Policy and Data policy, including proper registration, risk assessment, and alignment with data management and control frameworks

Weehawken: the salary range for this role is $140,000 to $180,000.

Your team
You will be part of the Chief Administrative Office within the Global Wealth Management - Banking US Team. The UBS Bank USA Chief Data Office is an arm of the CAO and is charged with oversight of all Bank data management and governance activities. We work hand in hand with our business partners, group functions, technology and peer Data Management Offices (DMOs) driving lineage efforts, control analysis, data quality issue management, and other governance related activities. The team is comprised on penultimate data professionals who blend deep business acumen, with program management capabilities, relationship management skills, and highly pragmatic mindsets. The team is predominantly based in the tristate area.
Your expertise
The candidate should have experience with regulatory / management reporting, data management, governance, and controls within a financial services setting (preferably within a Wealth Management / Banking environment). You must also have a proven track record of working across large, cross-functional teams/projects and an ability to develop, to foster and to leverage professional networks across the firm.
You have:
at least 10-12 years of data experience in financial services (preferably within a Banking/Wealth Management business line), consultancy or related industry
strong written and verbal communication skills, comfortable interacting with colleagues and stakeholders at all levels
a commercial mindset and the ability to design (and operate in alignment to) a defined serviced catalogue, key procedural controls and key performance indicators
sound understanding of expert functions (Accounting, Risk, Operations and Treasury) and their processes
experience with US regulatory reporting, and familiar with current regulations such as BCBS 239, OCC Heightened Banking Standards, IFRS, and CCAR is preferred
have a working knowledge of SDLC and Agile concepts for a multinational team
have good report building skills with the ability to communicate the business needs and concept to IT teams
have an ability to manage a large catalogue of data and reports in a changing environment to meet the needs of our end consumers
