Job Description Summary
Role is to lead a new metrology department for the X-Ray Tubes design and manufacturing facility located in West Milwaukee, WI. This includes maintaining metrology equipment, performing critical measurements for incoming and in-process components, quality investigations and concept development for measurement tooling required for x-ray tube manufacturing. Role would be responsible for executing existing metrology measurements, creating new metrology measurements by reading prints and reporting out results for FAI (First Article Inspection), investigations and new product introductions.

Job Description
Role Responsibilities
Operate the following metrology equipment to generate requested data:
- Tactile bridge CMMs
- Optical CMMs
- Optical Comparators
- Roughness & Contour Profilometer
- Hand gages (micrometers, height gages, etc.)
- Ultrasonic nondestructive inspection
- Laser Topography
- Helium Leak Check Equipment
- Interpret drawings with advanced GD&T into measurement strategies
- Communicate with engineers/requestors about their experimental intent
- Record data through Excel and PowerPoint
- Interact with requestors in-person or virtually to effectively present data
- Work with manufacturing engineers, technicians and design engineers to capture and produce a design that captures all product requirements for either new or existing product
- Use basic understanding of ASME Y14.100-2017 and ASME Y14.5 and ISO GPS (GD&T) to create measurements against print
- Examine engineering drawings of parts, assemblies, and installations to ensure accuracy and completeness and ensure conformance to design requirements documentation supplied by engineering and Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing
- Verify fit, form, and function for completeness and consistency of dimensioning on drawings
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or local equivalent (GED)
- Minimum 7 years of direct metrology experience of creating measurements routines, executing measurements and summarize reports on results and recommendations based on results.
- Prior experience with any CNC, CMM, Zeiss Calypso
- Prior experience with OPG ZONE3 and Measure Mind 3D experience
- 3D spatial thinking
- Understand coordinate systems and degrees of freedom
- Visualize multiple-part assemblies
- Experience with 3D view manipulation in software
- Experience reading engineering drawings or assembly diagrams
Desired Skills
- Prior ultrasonic scanning experience
- Prior Helium Checker experience
- Level 2 ultrasonic testing certification
- Design and build work holding using modular fixture plates
- Problem-solving skills and technical aptitude
- Able to react to change effectively in a team setting and handle multiple tasks as assigned
- Degree or specialized training related to Inspection/Quality, Manufacturing, Engineering
- Nondestructive Testing certification (ANST NDT)
- Formal Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) training
- Machining experience
- Generate 3D design concepts, modeling in Creo parametric, and generate assembly and detail drawing packages with experience using Creo Windchill PDM
