The AirPlay Audio team is looking for an expert developer in media networking technologies and layered system software who, with these skills, will be working to fill our user's lives with immersive audio, pushing the boundaries of media distribution and sonic experiences. As an expert in media protocols like RTP, you will develop and ship new technologies and features for sending audio amongst iPhones, Macs, iPads, HomePods, AppleTVs, and the rich AirPlay speaker ecosystem. You will work with networking, WiFi and hardware teams to ensure the most efficient and highest quality distribution can be achieved. You will take ownership of these technologies and features, finding new opportunities for them to enrich our user's lives.
BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent \nExperience with network protocols and media transport over IP\nExperience with congestion control algorithms and techniques \nC or C++ - Multithreading and System Software \nLow-level systems debugging and performance profiling experience \nAbility to independently drive complex end-to-end investigations \n
Familiarity with RTP, RTCP, or related real-time media protocols \nExperience in audio and other media programming \nExperience debugging problems in a highly concurrent environment \nExperience with using and developing media libraries especially for mobile platforms \nLeadership and mentoring experience \nExperience with data analytics and visualization tools like Splunk\n
