Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to join our banking client s technology team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in building, operating, and scaling highly reliable, secure, and resilient systems in a regulated financial environment. This role blends software engineering and infrastructure expertise to ensure high availability, performance, and operational excellence of mission-critical banking platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain highly available, scalable, and fault-tolerant systems for banking applications

• Define and manage SLIs, SLOs, and SLAs to ensure system reliability and performance

• Automate infrastructure provisioning, deployment, monitoring, and incident response using Infrastructure as Code (IaC)

• Collaborate with development, security, and operations teams to improve system reliability throughout the SDLC

• Lead and participate in incident management, root cause analysis (RCA), and post-incident reviews

• Develop and maintain monitoring, alerting, and observability solutions (metrics, logs, traces)

• Drive continuous improvement by reducing toil through automation and tooling

• Ensure compliance with banking, security, and regulatory standards (e.g., audit readiness, risk controls)

• Support disaster recovery, business continuity planning, and regular resilience testing

• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to reliability best practices and standards

Required Skills & Qualifications

Required Skills

• 8+ years of experience in SRE / DevOps / Production Support

• Strong experience with Linux/Unix systems

• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS / Azure / Google Cloud Platform)

• Experience with Docker & Kubernetes

• Strong scripting skills (Python, Bash, Go, etc.)

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation

• Monitoring tools: Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Splunk, Datadog

• Infrastructure as Code: Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation

• Experience supporting 24x7, high-availability production environments

Soft Skills
