Job DetailsKey responsibilities and duties
- Design, develop, code, commission, and validate automated manufacturing equipment and control systems.
- Program and troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, robots, and motion control systems.
- Diagnose complex equipment and control failures to reduce downtime.
- Lead automation projects from scope and design through vendor coordination, procurement, installation, and deployment.
- Design electrical schematics and control circuits; support control panel fabrication and wiring.
- Analyze production workflows and data to improve performance, efficiency, and cost.
- Document systems through technical reports, electrical drawings, and standard operating procedures.
- Provide technical guidance and training while meeting applicable safety and quality standards.
Qualifications - needed
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Automation, or Industrial Engineering or verifiable equivalent experience and vocational training in automation.
- 10+ years of manufacturing engineering experience, including substantial automation and robotics work; injection molding experience is preferred.
- Proven experience leading automation projects from design through deployment.
- Ability to program and troubleshoot PLCs and HMIs, Star Automation and/or Yushin robots, and six-axis robots.
- Experience implementing and programming servo and stepper motor systems.
- Ability to design electrical schematics and control circuits and to design, fabricate, and wire control panels.
- Working knowledge of pneumatic controls and electro-pneumatic troubleshooting.
- Ability to produce 2D or 3D equipment drawings in AutoCAD or SolidWorks and apply GD&T.
- Familiarity with applicable industrial safety, electrical, building, and quality codes; ability to travel to facilities and suppliers as needed.
- Preferred: extensive mechanical design experience; SCADA and database experience.
