Ruby on Rails Developer
Location: Sunnyvale, CA or Austin, TX
Duration: 12 Months Contract


Job Requirement:

·         5+ years of experience in developing web applications using Ruby and Ruby on Rails.

·         Strong proficiency in Ruby programming language and object-oriented design principles.

·         Hands-on experience with Ruby on Rails framework (Rails 5/6/7) for building scalable and maintainable applications.

·         Expertise in developing RESTful APIs and integrating third-party APIs.

·         Experience with front-end technologies such as HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery, and modern frameworks like React.js or Vue.js.

·         Strong knowledge of database design and development using PostgreSQL, MySQL, and MongoDB.

·         Experience with ORM tools such as ActiveRecord and writing optimized SQL queries.

·         Hands-on experience with version control systems like Git and repository management using GitHub/GitLab.

·         Familiarity with testing frameworks such as RSpec, Capybara, and Cucumber.

·         Experience with background job processing tools like Sidekiq, Resque, or Delayed Job.

·         Knowledge of caching technologies such as Redis and Memcached.

·         Experience with cloud platforms and deployments on AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.

·         Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.

·         Experience with CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI/CD.

·         Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies and participation in sprint planning, code reviews, and retrospectives.

·         Knowledge of application security best practices, authentication (OAuth, JWT), and authorization mechanisms.

·         Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as New Relic, Datadog, Splunk, or ELK Stack.

·         Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and performance optimization skills.

·         Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

 

Preferred/Niche Skills:

·         Experience with microservices architecture.

·         Knowledge of GraphQL implementation.

·         Familiarity with Hotwire, Turbo, and Stimulus.

·         Experience with SaaS product development.

·         Exposure to DevOps practices and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform).
