Senior Java Developer (HBITS-08-14869) - Albany, NY 12232 (3 days onsite per week)

We are currently hiring for the Senior Java Developer role (Job ID: HBITS-08-14869) with one of our clients in Albany, NY. As a prime vendor to New York State, we support their HBITS (Hourly-Based IT Services) requirements.

Position Details:

• Title: Senior Java Developer
• Duration: 30 Months
• Location: Albany, NY 12232 (3 days onsite per week)
• Interview Mode: Single round, Virtual

Job Responsibilities:

The selected candidate will be responsible for all phases of the System Development Life Cycle for complex projects. The responsibilities will include both new development as well as maintenance tasks. Specific tasks will include:

• Assisting with the technical design for modernization of legacy systems.
• Coordinating the technical solutions among various technical support groups.
• Implementing technical solutions.
• Developing processing system components and maintaining existing processing systems.
• Supporting production tasks including analysis of issues, proposing, and implementing solutions for defect resolution.
• Coordinating with the development team on development activities and integration testing.
• Developing technical design documents and program specifications.
• Guiding requirements gathering sessions.
• Guiding the analysis of requirements and system design work.
• Coding, and performing unit and integration tests of programming assignments.
• Writing and tuning SQL.
• Supporting user testing efforts.
• Performance tuning of new and existing.
• Mentoring less experienced staff.

Required Skills & Experience:

• 84 months of experience with J2EE technologies including JDBC, JSP and XML.
• 84 months of experience developing, building, and testing Java EE applications using modern IDE’s, such as Eclipse, NetBeans, or IntelliJ.
• 84 months of experience using J2EE-based application servers such as WebSphere, WebLogic, Tomcat, JBoss etc.
• 84 months of IBM DB2 experience working with DB2 databases and XML schemas (definition, querying and automated generation).
• 60 months of experience in performance tuning applications interacting with databases.
• 60 months of experience in messaging technologies, such as MQ, JMS, Kafka.
• 84 months of experience in system analysis and design of multi-tiered transactional systems.
• 48 months of experience with Real Property Tax (e.g. valuation, assessments, and exemptions).
• 24 months of experience programming multi-tier ColdFusion web applications using Dreamweaver or CF Builder IDE and deployed in a CF9 or greater UNIX environment and with Sybase RDBMS.
