Position Summary
4Consulting, Inc is seeking a qualified Database Architect to support technology consulting, application development, systems analysis, testing, data management, cybersecurity, infrastructure, or project delivery services for client projects. The selected candidate will perform duties consistent with the client’s project requirements and company delivery standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The candidate will be responsible for:
- Design and develop logical and physical data models for Silver and Gold layers of a medallion data warehouse and lakehouse architecture.
- Assess existing database models for usability, performance, and efficiency, and recommend improvements aligned with business requirements.
- Lead stakeholder workshops to define future-state database models supporting General Ledger, Trial Balance, and other financial datasets.
- Establish data modeling standards and best practices to improve database scalability, extensibility, data quality, and integration across financial data sources.
Minimum Qualifications

Education
|
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience
|
6–9 years of experience in database architecture, data modeling, data warehousing, lakehouse design, and financial data management.

Business / Domain Skills
|
- Experience supporting Finance and accounting data environments, including General Ledger, Trial Balance, financial reporting, reconciliation, and enterprise financial data management.
- Experience designing and maintaining logical and physical data models that support financial business processes, data consistency, reporting requirements, and evolving business needs.
- Experience analyzing financial data structures and source-system information from enterprise finance platforms to identify data quality issues, modeling gaps, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improved financial data integration.
- Experience collaborating with Finance stakeholders and functional teams to assess current-state data models, define future-state requirements, establish data modeling standards, and improve the usability and extensibility of financial data for analytics and reporting.

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience modeling financial data from SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards, or similar enterprise financial systems.
- Experience applying Third Normal Form (3NF), star schema, and snowflake schema modeling practices.
- Strong stakeholder workshop facilitation, analytical problem-solving, and technical advisory skills.
