Job Summary

We are seeking a Senior SQL / Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) to manage, optimize, and support enterprise-level database environments. This role is responsible for ensuring high availability, performance, security, and reliability of both Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server databases across production and non-production systems.

The ideal candidate will have deep experience in database administration, performance tuning, backup/recovery, and cloud/on-prem hybrid environments, with a strong focus on proactive monitoring and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer and support Oracle and SQL Server databases in enterprise environments
• Perform database installation, configuration, upgrades, and patching
• Monitor database performance and implement tuning and optimization strategies
• Manage backup, recovery, and disaster recovery planning (DR)
• Ensure high availability using clustering, replication, and failover solutions
• Troubleshoot and resolve database issues, outages, and performance bottlenecks
• Implement and maintain database security, access controls, and compliance standards
• Support data migrations, upgrades, and cloud transitions (AWS/Azure)
• Collaborate with developers and application teams on query optimization and schema design
• Automate routine DBA tasks using scripts (PowerShell, Shell, Python)
• Maintain documentation for database architecture, processes, and procedures

Required Skills & Experience

• 8+ years of experience as a Database Administrator (DBA)
• Strong hands-on experience with:
  • Oracle Database (11g/12c/19c or higher)
  • Microsoft SQL Server (2016/2019/2022)
• Expertise in:
  • Performance tuning (queries, indexing, execution plans)
  • Backup & recovery strategies (RMAN, native SQL tools)
  • High availability (Always On, RAC, Data Guard)
• Experience with:
  • Database monitoring tools
  • Automation/scripting (Shell, PowerShell, Python)
• Knowledge of:
  • Security best practices and compliance
  • Data integrity and governance
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
