Project Manager/Insurance

This is a contract to hire role in the Atlanta area. This role is NOT open to C2C, OPT, or any Visa consideration. No vendor support of ANY kind needed.

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager with a strong background in insurance underwriting, rating/pricing, and system implementations. This individual will lead complex initiatives involving policy administration, underwriting platforms, and rating engines (e.g., Guidewire, Duck Creek), driving alignment between business and technology teams to deliver high-impact solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end project delivery, including initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closure across multiple concurrent initiatives.
• Develop and manage comprehensive project plans outlining timelines, resources, dependencies, and risk mitigation strategies.
• Partner closely with underwriting, product, actuarial/pricing, technology, and compliance teams to ensure alignment on business objectives and solution delivery.
• Elicit, analyze, and document business and functional requirements, particularly related to underwriting workflows and rating/pricing logic.
• Oversee system implementations and integrations, including policy administration and underwriting platforms such as Guidewire or Duck Creek.
• Proactively identify and manage risks, issues, and scope changes, ensuring timely resolution and escalation when needed.
• Manage project scope, schedule, and budget, ensuring milestones and deliverables are met on time.
• Coordinate testing efforts (SIT/UAT), release planning, and production deployment across cross-functional teams.
• Facilitate governance forums, status reporting, and executive communications, providing clear visibility into progress and risks.
• Ensure business readiness, including training, documentation, and change management activities prior to go-live.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of project management experience
• Experience within the Property & Casualty or Commercial Insurance industry (non-healthcare).
• Strong understanding of underwriting processes, rating/pricing methodologies, and policy lifecycle workflows.
• Proven experience leading system implementations or integrations, particularly with Guidewire, Duck Creek, or similar platforms.
• Demonstrated success managing projects involving policy administration systems, underwriting tools, or rating engines.
• Hands-on experience with project management tools such as MS Project, Jira, or Smartsheet.
• Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills with the ability to bridge business and technical teams.
• Experience working in Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid delivery environments.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Technology, or a related field; PMP, PMI-ACP, or equivalent certification preferred.
