Position Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced IT Software Engineer 5 – Lead to provide technical leadership and hands-on engineering expertise for the development and operation of scalable, cloud-native enterprise applications.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Java, Spring Boot, microservices, AWS, DevOps, distributed systems, and modern cloud architecture. This role will lead technical initiatives, drive architectural decisions, establish engineering best practices, and mentor software engineers while partnering closely with architects, product teams, platform teams, and business stakeholders.
 

Key Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and guidance to software engineering teams delivering enterprise-scale applications.
• Define and implement software architecture standards, engineering best practices, and technology strategies.
• Lead AWS cloud adoption, application modernization, and cloud-native engineering initiatives.
• Design and oversee highly scalable, secure, resilient, and high-performing software solutions.
• Lead the design and development of Java/Spring Boot microservices and distributed applications.
• Establish and promote best practices for DevOps, CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, observability, and automated deployments.
• Drive the adoption of modern engineering tools and AI-assisted development technologies to improve developer productivity.
• Design and support reliable API integrations and event-driven architectures.
• Work with search and data platforms including OpenSearch/Elasticsearch, SQL, and NoSQL databases.
• Participate in production support, incident management, root-cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Identify and implement opportunities to improve application performance, scalability, reliability, and operational efficiency.
• Mentor and coach engineers, helping strengthen technical skills and engineering practices.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, Enterprise/Solution Architects, Platform Engineering teams, and business stakeholders to translate business requirements into effective technical solutions.
• Communicate technical decisions, risks, dependencies, and recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Promote a culture of ownership, accountability, collaboration, and continuous technical improvement.

Required Qualifications
Education

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
   

Professional Experience

• 10+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• 5+ years in a Technical Lead, Engineering Lead, Senior Software Engineer Lead, or similar technical leadership role.
• Demonstrated experience designing and delivering cloud-native enterprise applications.
• Proven experience leading technical initiatives and influencing architecture and engineering decisions.
• Experience working in Agile and cross-functional enterprise environments.
