The Advanced Materials Department is a multi-disciplinary team that provides materials engineering expertise for every phase of a program. With backgrounds in materials science, chemistry/chemical engineering, physics, among others, the department has experience in executing a variety of efforts from R&D, to prototype development, to supporting design and build tasks for manufacturing. Beyond subject matter expertise, the department has the analysis equipment, multi-physics modelling capability and experimental lab space to support activities ranging from proof-of-concept experimentation to manufacturing support.

Are you ready to make an impact? Share your resume with us today!Primary Responsibilities.- Document investigation / research findings and present results to internal and external customers as well as subcontractors
- Investigate materials in a laboratory setting and troubleshoot manufacturing processes
- Work with subcontractors to improve the manufacturing process of carbon-carbon materials through root cause analysis methods
- Solving complex engineering challenges with both analytical and experimental approaches
- Candidate must be self-motivated and be capable of functioning effectively in a fast-paced environment
Basic Qualifications. - Bachelor's Degree in Materials, Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or equivalent from an ABET accredited institution
- Experience with mechanical and/or metallurgical testing
- Strong verbal and written skills along with practical knowledge of data analysis and interpretation of results
- Must be a resident of North Alabama area or willing to relocate in order to work on-site at the Huntsville, AL office
Preferred Qualifications.- Advanced degree in Materials Science / Engineering
- Experience working with composite materials
- Experience with manufacturing composite materials or knowledge of the composites manufacturing process

Pay Range:Pay Range $57,850.00 - $104,575.00
