Ameresco has an immediate opening for a Measurement and Verification Engineer to provide technical expertise and ensure delivery of energy, water, and Operations and Maintenance (O&M) savings for energy savings performance contracts (ESPC) on federal projects throughout the United States.

Responsibilities:
  • Gather site information including utility data, energy management system (EMS) trend data, project site logs, and field service reports.
  • Analyze and evaluate data to verify savings using spreadsheet-based energy calculation programs.
  • Develop, produce, and distribute monthly, quarterly and annual Measurement & Verification reports.
  • Schedule and perform M&V on-site inspections, report presentations, and customer training.
  • Review ESPC contracts to ensure understanding and compliance of company M&V obligations.
  • As required, coordinate assistance with Operations & Maintenance staff and service contractors.
  • Assist project development teams in creating M&V protocols for new projects.
  • Cultivate and foster customer relationships.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • BSME or equivalent four-year technical engineering degree plus minimum two years' experience performing measurement and verification or energy related reporting.
  • Travel required.
  • Valid Drivers' License issued by state of residence and in good standing.

Additional Preferred Qualifications:
  • Ability to analyze and quantify energy savings in projects involving chiller and boiler plants, motors, compressors, VSDs, HVAC retrofit, controls, and distributed generation.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (macro required), Microsoft Access, Visual Basic, and MS Office.
  • Excellent verbal, written and computer communication and presentation skills.
  • Understanding of engineering principles associated with the analysis of energy-savings measures.
  • Knowledge of IPMVP and FEMP standards a plus
  • U.S. Citizenship or U.S. Permanent Resident status required.
  • Energy Management Controls experience is a plus
  • May be required to pass security clearance investigation.

The anticipated base salary range for this role is $88,900 - $128,750 (presented in good faith). In addition to base pay, employees receive a comprehensive benefits package, such as health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off, and may be eligible for performance incentives, bonuses, commissions, or equity, depending on the role.

Actual pay will depend on factors such as internal equity, skills, experience, education, certifications, and location. This range supports our commitment to pay transparency and compliance with applicable laws. Compensation may vary by work location, including remote arrangements.
