Job Title: Network Planning & Design Governance Specialist (Infrastructure)
Role Overview
We are seeking a high-level Network Planning & Design (NPD) Governance Specialist to serve as the primary technical gatekeeper for our enterprise-scale telecom and IP network designs. In this role, you will be responsible for enforcing design quality, auditing engineering submissions, and ensuring that all network assets and digital records are documented with 100% accuracy. You will bridge the gap between engineering, architecture, and field technicians, acting as the final authority on the integrity of our network resource data within a complex, regulated infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
Engineering Data Stewardship: Serve as the final gatekeeper for all network planning work. Audit engineering submissions to ensure that contractor and internal designs meet strict documentation and best-practice standards.
Network Modeling & Governance: Manage the mapping of complex telecom assets. Develop and refine Configuration Item (CI) views, policies, and reporting to ensure synchronized data across integrated systems.
Technical Consultation: Partner with Telecom Engineers and Architects to interpret technical drawings and create precise connection paths from complex documentation.
Operational Support: Provide hands-on troubleshooting and support for circuit updates, clearance impacts, and post-clearance changes. Advise teams on configuration management best practices.
Platform Health: Partner with IT Product teams on system health checks, production support, and discovery/reconciliation activities to ensure accurate data synchronization.
Mentorship & Training: Lead training sessions for design drafters, technicians, and junior engineers to uphold the highest standards of network design integrity.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education: Associate degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Telecommunications, Computer Science, or equivalent professional experience. (Bachelor's degree preferred).
Certification: CompTIA Network+ required.
Experience: * 4+ years in a NOC or IT Network/Telecom Operations environment.
1+ year of experience with Discovery or modeling Operations Support Systems (OSS).
Technical Skills:
Proven ability to read and interpret complex telecommunications drawings and digital designs.
Understanding of ITIL processes, specifically the role of "Discovery" in configuration management.
Familiarity with networking/security protocols (SNMP, SSH, SQL, etc.) and application support (Linux/Windows).
