Our client is a well-established manufacturer seeking a Manufacturing Operations Manager to help lead a large, complex manufacturing operation during a period of significant operational investment, modernization, and organizational transformation.

This position offers the opportunity to join a leadership team that is actively investing in new equipment, automation, manufacturing technologies, facility improvements, and operational excellence initiatives to support future growth and performance objectives.

The Manufacturing Operations Manager will provide leadership for a high-volume production operation consisting of multiple departments, a large hourly workforce, and a team of frontline supervisors responsible for day-to-day execution.

The organization is looking for a leader who can build accountability, strengthen supervisor effectiveness, improve operational execution, and create a culture where employees take ownership, solve problems, and consistently deliver results.

This role requires a leader who can successfully operate at both a strategic and tactical level. Someone who enjoys being on the manufacturing floor, engaging with employees, developing leaders, removing barriers, and driving continuous improvement, while also helping shape the future direction of the operation.

Position Responsibilities:
    \t
  • Provide leadership for a large manufacturing operation within a fast-paced, high-volume production environment \t
  • Lead, coach, develop, and hold accountable a team of production supervisors and frontline leaders \t
  • Drive operational performance across safety, quality, productivity, delivery, cost, scrap, and employee engagement metrics \t
  • Establish clear expectations and accountability throughout the organization \t
  • Create a culture focused on ownership, urgency, communication, and execution \t
  • Support and lead operational improvement initiatives focused on throughput, labor utilization, workflow optimization, and manufacturing efficiency \t
  • Partner closely with Engineering, Quality, Maintenance, Materials, Planning, Human Resources, and Continuous Improvement teams \t
  • Support major capital equipment projects, automation initiatives, and manufacturing modernization efforts \t
  • Analyze operational performance data and implement corrective actions to improve results \t
  • Lead employee performance management, workforce development, succession planning, and organizational capability-building efforts \t
  • Foster positive labor relations within a union manufacturing environment \t
  • Champion continuous improvement activities utilizing Lean Manufacturing and Operational Excellence principles
Qualified Candidates Will Bring:

  • Progressive manufacturing leadership experience within a high-volume manufacturing environment \t
  • Experience leading through supervisors and managing large hourly workforces \t
  • Demonstrated success improving operational performance, employee engagement, and team accountability \t
  • Strong leadership presence with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization \t
  • Experience driving change within a manufacturing operation \t
  • Proven ability to develop supervisors and build leadership capability within an organization \t
  • Strong communication, coaching, conflict resolution, and problem-solving skills \t
  • Experience working within union manufacturing environments
Preferred Background:
Experience from one or more of the following environments is highly valued:

  • Automotive manufacturing \t
  • Tier 1 or Tier 2 suppliers \t
  • Metal stamping \t
  • Die casting \t
  • Assembly operations \t
  • Industrial manufacturing \t
