Job Title: Lead SWIFT/iOS (Medical Device) Software Engineer
Location: San Diego, CA (Onsite with some hybrid flexibility)

Compensation: $155,000 – $175,000 (flexible)
Overview
We are partnering with a well-funded, high-growth startup to identify a Lead SWIFT/iOS Software Engineer. This is a full-time, permanent opportunity offering the chance to play a critical leadership role in shaping the company’s software engineering function as it scales.
This position is highly hands-on and impactful, combining technical leadership with active development. The ideal candidate will take ownership of architecture, contribute production-level code, and drive key software decisions across the product.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and own the architecture and technical direction for iOS (Swift) applications and device interfaces
- Design, develop, and maintain high-quality native iOS applications
- Build and support web interfaces and backend services (Google Cloud Platform preferred)
- Serve as a key decision-maker for cross-functional product and engineering initiatives
- Lead integration efforts across software, firmware, and hardware teams (no prior firmware/hardware experience required)
- Establish and evolve development standards, best practices, and CI/CD pipelines
- Conduct code reviews to ensure quality, scalability, security, and maintainability
Required Qualifications
- Strong experience developing iOS applications using Swift, particularly those interfacing with medical devices
- Proven ability to own and deliver software products end-to-end
- Experience working across both mobile and web platforms
- Hands-on development experience with RESTful APIs
Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills
- Experience with Google Cloud Platform (AWS is also acceptable)
- Familiarity with Kubernetes and modern CI/CD pipelines
- Experience in medical device environments, including knowledge of ISO 13485 / IEC 62304 standards
