Location: Jersey City, NJ (Open for Relocation)

We are seeking an experienced KDB/q Developer to join a global technology team supporting enterprise-grade data platforms for Fixed Income, Currencies, and Commodities (FICC). The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with KDB/q, Linux, scripting, and large-scale distributed systems in a fast-paced financial environment.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain KDB/q-based data platforms.
Support and enhance existing KDB-based FICC data solutions.
Build scalable, high-performance data processing applications.
Develop ETL processes for data warehouse environments.
Work with global Agile teams across the US and EMEA.
Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions.
Integrate KDB with Python, Shell scripting, Hadoop, and distributed systems.

Required Skills

4+ years of hands-on KDB/q development experience.
Strong knowledge of q internals including:
- Tick Plant (TP)
- Real-Time Database (RDB)
- Historical Database (HDB)
- Tick Data Storage
Solid experience with UNIX/Linux.
Strong scripting experience using Python, Shell Scripting, or Perl.
Experience designing and developing ETL processes.
Knowledge of distributed/client-server architectures.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Skills

Python development experience.
Java knowledge.
Hadoop ecosystem experience.
FICC or Capital Markets domain experience.
Experience working in large financial institutions.
