DB2 Administrator / Software License Compliance Specialist

Location: Austin, TX (Hybrid – Onsite as required)

Job Overview

We are urgently seeking an experienced DB2 Database Administrator (DBA) with a specialized background in software license management and compliance for a major state agency. This role involves assessing current DB2 environments, reconciling deployments with entitlement terms, and ensuring all software license agreements meet compliance standards.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Database Administration: Administer, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot DB2 database environments.

  • License Compliance: Review and interpret software license agreements and entitlement documentation.

  • Audit & Discovery: Perform licensing discovery and usage analysis to validate compliance across products, editions, and features.

  • Remediation: Create compliance remediation plans and collaborate with technical, procurement, and vendor stakeholders.

  • Reporting: Prepare formal compliance documentation and audit support materials.

  • System Support: Support DB2 platforms on AIX/UNIX/Linux; utilize shell scripting to automate data collection.

 

Qualifications & Requirements

< dir="ltr">Minimum Requirements

  • 8+ years of DB2 Database Administration experience.

  • 8+ years of experience managing software license agreements and compliance.

  • 2+ years of experience with AIX/UNIX/Linux platforms.

  • 2+ years of Shell Scripting (bash, ksh, etc.).

< dir="ltr">Preferred Skills

  • 8+ years of experience specifically with DB2 Licensing / IBM Passport Advantage.

  • 5+ years of experience supporting DB2 on AIX.
