Summary

In this role, you will build the tools that govern and manage the global Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform). Data driven continuous improvement is how we enable best practices for our ~10,000+ engineers.
Key goals for the Cloud Engineering Team include improving overall cloud maturity, helping team build resilient cloud native applications, delivering a secure and compliant cloud offering, and reducing time to market.
You will need to know how to build a modern global enterprise cloud. You write code just about every day and are very familiar with git / GitOps and Terraform. You should strive to make those around you better while helping teams continuously improve based on real data.
Modern cloud governance, observability, and cloud native application architecture should be very familiar to you. Our best Cloud Engineers are curious, have an engineering mindset, are not afraid to fail, and are continuous learners who stay current on new technology.

Qualifications:

You will have a Bachelor''s degree OR equivalent work experience.
10+ years of recent experience as a hands-on architect / engineer in the public cloud space.
You know the public cloud and have extensive experience with Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform).
Writing code just about daily and very familiar with git and how to build an enterprise grade automation toolset.
Demonstrate expertise in Infrastructure as Code (IaC), Git / GitOps practices and cloud-native technologies.
You will utilize a variety of IaC tools, anchored by Terraform.
Establishing cloud platforms that are secure, cost-effective and easy for teams to adopt.
Being a thought leader and mentor to Senior engineers.
