Raytheon is seeking a Principal Quality Engineer to join the Radio Frequency Components team supporting semiconductor manufacturing in Andover, MA. As a core member of the Operations Quality team, the individual in this role will be responsible for monitoring production performance, leading yield improvements and reduction of Cost of Poor Quality (CoPQ), supporting factory compliance to site policies and procedures, validating proper change control and implementation, and more. The ideal candidate will be able to utilize semiconductor process knowledge and strong analytical and communications skills to drive cost effective quality solutions.

What You Will Do:
  • Define change classification and customer communication plan
  • Assess production trends using data analysis and statistical process control methods
  • Engage and lead cross functional teams to address rework and scrap, drive continuous improvement, root cause and corrective action
  • Participate in change control board and qualification review
  • Review technical data and disposition suspect nonconforming material
  • Lead continuous improvement activities through Defect Prevention Teams.
  • Support audit procedural compliance
  • Interface with DCMA & MDA and internal Raytheon Customers.
  • Communicate best practices, audit results, and quality trends
  • Interface with operators in the fab to investigate process issues

Qualifications You Must Have:
  • Typically requires a Bachelor's degree (in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)) and a minimum of 8 years prior relevant experience.
  • Experience in Microsoft Office Suite (Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, etc.)
  • Experience in semiconductor manufacturing OR experience in quality, or process engineering, in a manufacturing environment.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.

Qualifications We Prefer:
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Experience working and handling products in a cleanroom environment
  • Experience with III-V compound semiconductor devices including Gallium Nitride, Gallium Arsenide HEMTs and SLS IR detectors
  • Ability to participate in and lead cross functional teams focused on solving technical problems
  • Ability to analyze data, develop and communicate relevant conclusions to drive meaningful results.
  • Experience with PFMEA (Process Failure Mode Effects Analysis), Control Plans, Statistical Process Control (SPC), Fault Detection Control (FDC), Out of Control Action Plans
  • Experience working with DoD, i.e. Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA), Missile Defense Agency (MDA)
  • Experience with MIL-STD-883 die visual criteria, and/or microelectronics defect classification, high-power microscope inspection
  • Experience in compliance audits, ISO9001/AS9100, AS9102 First Article Inspection Reporting
  • Experience in RCCA methodologies such as 8D, Fishbone, 5-WHY, Shainin Red X, Fault Tree Analysis
  • Experience with internal/external customer communication
  • Experience with JMP or similar software such as Minitab

The salary range for this role is 107,500 USD - 204,500 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
