Job Position : Associate Backend Engineer / Backend Developer
About the Role:
We are looking for an Associate Backend Engineer / Backend Developer to join our engineering team and help build, maintain, and scale reliable backend services and APIs. You will work closely with frontend engineers, product managers, and other developers to deliver high-quality features and improve the performance and reliability of our systems.
This role is ideal for an early-career engineer who has a strong foundation in backend development and is eager to learn, solve problems, and work on production systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop, maintain, and enhance backend services, REST APIs, and application features.
Write clean, maintainable, scalable, and well-tested code.
Design and implement database schemas, queries, and data models.
Integrate third-party APIs and external services.
Debug and resolve application issues, bugs, and performance problems.
Write unit and integration tests to ensure software reliability.
Participate in code reviews and contribute to engineering best practices.
Work with frontend engineers to design and implement end-to-end features.
Monitor backend services and help troubleshoot production issues.
Contribute to improving application performance, scalability, security, and reliability.
Participate in technical discussions and contribute to architectural decisions as you gain experience.
Stay updated with relevant backend technologies and development practices.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
1–7 years of experience in backend development or software engineering.
Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented programming.
Proficiency in at least one backend programming language such as:
Java
Python
Node.js / JavaScript / TypeScript
Go
C#
Good understanding of REST APIs and HTTP fundamentals.
Working knowledge of relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL.
Familiarity with Git and version-control workflows.
Understanding of software development fundamentals, debugging, and testing.
Good problem-solving and analytical skills.
Ability to work effectively in a collaborative engineering environment.
Good to Have :
Experience with Spring Boot, Django/FastAPI, Express/NestJS, or similar backend frameworks.
Familiarity with Redis, Kafka, RabbitMQ, or other messaging/caching systems.
Basic knowledge of Docker and CI/CD.
Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
Understanding of microservices and distributed systems.
Familiarity with logging, monitoring, and observability tools.
Contributions to open-source projects or personal backend projects.
