Role Summary
Responsible for installing, configuring, deploying, monitoring, and maintaining Windows-based client applications and endpoint environments as part of enterprise systems administration. This role ensures consistent, reliable, secure, and supportable end-user access to business-critical applications and infrastructure services.
Note: Epic HDA certification—or the ability to obtain it—is preferred.
- Core technical skills: Windows administration, SCCM/MECM, Intune, Group Policy, PowerShell, and application packaging.
- Additional advantage: Citrix/VDI, enterprise software deployment, patching, and change management.
Primary Focus
- Package, deploy, configure, and maintain Windows desktop applications across enterprise endpoint environments.
- Manage Windows client and server compatibility, application version alignment, and deployment dependencies.
- Administer and troubleshoot Windows operating systems, application launch issues, printing, connectivity, performance, and endpoint configuration problems.
- Manage application deployment and software distribution using Microsoft SCCM/MECM, Microsoft Intune, or similar endpoint management tools.
- Support Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops, Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI), and remote application delivery environments.
- Perform deployment validation, patch management, application upgrades, testing, and rollback activities.
- Monitor endpoint health, investigate recurring incidents, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Follow established change management, release management, documentation, and IT service management processes.
- Collaborate with infrastructure, network, security, application support, and service desk teams to maintain service availability and operational stability.
Priority Candidate Profile
- Strong hands-on experience in Windows desktop and server administration, configuration, and troubleshooting.
- Experience with Windows application packaging, software distribution, deployment automation, and endpoint lifecycle management.
- Proficiency with Microsoft SCCM/MECM, Microsoft Intune, Group Policy (GPO), Active Directory, and Windows update management.
- Working knowledge of Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops, VDI, remote desktop services, or similar virtualization technologies.
- Experience troubleshooting application installation failures, Windows services, printing, authentication, connectivity, and performance issues.
- Understanding of PowerShell scripting for administration, automation, deployment, and troubleshooting.
- Strong knowledge of ITIL-based incident, problem, change, and release management processes.
- Experience supporting enterprise-scale Windows environments with a focus on availability, security, standardization, and operational reliability.
- Relevant Microsoft certifications in Windows Server, endpoint administration, or Azure are preferred.
Why This Role Is Urgent
Without dedicated ownership of Windows client deployment and endpoint administration, organizations may experience inconsistent application versions, failed deployments, delayed patching, configuration drift, and increased end-user disruption.
This role provides centralized ownership of Windows application delivery, endpoint configuration, deployment validation, and release coordination to reduce manual effort, minimize service interruptions, and improve the reliability and supportability of enterprise IT environments.
Recommended candidate profile
- Primary target: Windows Systems Administrator or Infrastructure Engineer.
- Core technical skills: Windows administration, SCCM/MECM, Intune, Group Policy, PowerShell, and application packaging.
- Additional advantage: Citrix/VDI, enterprise software deployment, patching, and change management.
- Suggested experience level: 5–8 years, depending on the complexity of the enterprise environment and the seniority expected for Infrastructure Engineer III.
Recommended job title: Windows Systems Administrator – Application Deployment & Endpoint Management
This title will attract a broader Windows infrastructure talent pool rather than candidates specializing in a particular healthcare application.
