NOTE:
This is a fully remote, 40 hour/week staff augmentation/contract position anticipated to last 6-12 months with potential of converting to full-time employee.
Work may be performed anywhere in the contiguous United States with travel as required for business purposes.
Typical travel is 25%
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Quality Assurance team is responsible for development, implementation and maintenance of the Seine Client quality assurance program (QAP), including supplier and internal oversight activities.
The team is also responsible for reviewing the current QAP against new regulations, standards and quality requirements to determine steps necessary for compliance.
An individual in this role provides subject matter expertise and leadership, including guidance, regarding compliance with applicable nuclear regulatory requirements as well as the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code (BPVC).
Frequent communications within the QA team as well as with other groups and departments as well as supplier, both written and verbal, is a key component of this role.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develops, evaluates, and maintains Seine Client quality assurance program processes including writing instructions, procedures, and other requirement and guidance documents for the quality assurance program.
Reviews QAPD and NQAM for continuing compliance to Codes and regulations, identifying opportunities for improvement.
Also reviews Level 2 and higher Seine Client procedures for compliance with the Quality Assurance Program Description (QAPD) and the Nuclear Quality Assurance Manual (NQAM).
Recommends and implements program improvements, enhancements and recommended changes. Develop and communicate training and background information cross-functionally.
Provides guidance and support in the field of nuclear quality assurance to Seine Client personnel performing activities affecting quality.
Mentors and trains others in sound approaches and standards regarding nuclear quality assurance, including effective interaction with cross functional teams and problem solving.
Develops strategies, quality plans, and procedures as needed to ensure required quality codes, standards, requirements and customer expectations are met or exceeded.
Participates in supplier qualification surveys, implementation audits, and surveillances; internal quality assurance audits, surveillances, and assessments; and root cause analyses. Serves as subject matter expert when appropriate.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Quality Assurance:
Commits to the understanding and implementation of quality assurance regulations, standards and guidelines of 10 CFR 50 Appendix B, 10 CFR 21, NQA-1, and ASME BPVC Section III.
MINIMUM SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS AND ABILITIES:
Education:
A minimum of a B.S. in Engineering or a B.S. in business, or B.A. degree required.
Experience:
A minimum of 16 years of experience associated with development and/or implementation of nuclear quality assurance programs is required.
Thorough understanding of and extensive experience implementing nuclear quality assurance regulations, standards and guidelines such as 10 CFR 50 Appendix B, 10 CFR 21, NQA-1, and ASME BPVC Section III is required.
Extensive commercial nuclear plant or non-reactor nuclear facility related experience is required.
Experience working with international nuclear quality codes, standards and regulations is a plus.
Industry Requirements: Eligible to work under Department of Energy 10 CFR Part 810.
