Senior Guidewire Product Owner – Commercial Auto

Position Overview

Drive product vision, roadmap, requirements, prioritization, and delivery for Guidewire-based P&C insurance platforms. This role brings together Guidewire expertise, P&C insurance knowledge, and product ownership to translate business needs into effective technology solutions.

The ideal candidate will work closely with business stakeholders, technology teams, architects, delivery partners, and Agile teams, with particular relevance to Commercial Auto capabilities and processes.

What You'll Do

• Own and communicate the product vision, roadmap, priorities, and backlog.
• Partner with business stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into clear product requirements and user stories.
• Serve as the key liaison between business stakeholders and Guidewire technology and delivery teams.
• Prioritize the product backlog based on business value, customer needs, regulatory requirements, dependencies, and delivery timelines.
• Define epics, features, user stories, acceptance criteria, and business requirements.
• Work closely with Guidewire architects, developers, business analysts, QA, and implementation teams to ensure successful delivery.
• Provide business and product direction for Commercial Auto-related capabilities and processes.
• Lead backlog refinement, sprint planning, demos, and other product-related Agile ceremonies.
• Provide clarification and timely decisions to delivery teams throughout the development lifecycle.
• Coordinate UAT, business validation, release readiness, and production implementation.
• Manage stakeholder expectations and communicate product status, risks, dependencies, and decisions.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, and enhanced customer experience.
• Ensure product solutions align with business strategy, enterprise architecture, security, compliance, and operational requirements.
• Collaborate with distributed teams and participate in onsite meetings in Omaha as required.

Required Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in product management, product ownership, business analysis, or technology delivery.
• 3+ years of experience working as a Product Owner/Product Manager in an Agile environment.
• Strong P&C Insurance domain experience.
• Hands-on experience with Guidewire platforms, preferably PolicyCenter, BillingCenter, or ClaimCenter.
• Strong understanding of Guidewire implementation, configuration, integrations, and insurance business processes.
• Experience creating and managing product backlogs, epics, features, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
• Strong stakeholder management, communication, facilitation, and decision-making skills.
• Experience working with distributed business and technology teams.
• Experience with Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, or similar Agile tools.
• Ability and willingness to travel to Omaha at least one week per month for remote positions.

Preferred Qualifications

• Commercial Auto insurance experience.
• Guidewire experience combined with Commercial Auto domain experience.
• Guidewire certification or relevant Guidewire implementation experience.
• Experience with Guidewire Cloud / Cloud Platform.
• Experience with Commercial Lines, particularly Commercial Auto.
• Experience with other P&C insurance products such as Property, Workers' Compensation, General Liability, Umbrella, or BOP.
• Experience with Guidewire integrations and the surrounding insurance technology ecosystem.
• Prior experience supporting large-scale insurance transformation or modernization programs.
• PMP, CSPO, PSPO, SAFe, or Scrum certification.
• Experience working directly with insurance carriers and business stakeholders.
