It's an exciting time to be a part of H&R Block!

What you'll do...

As a Systems Analyst at H&R Block, you will be responsible for supporting and optimizing the People & Culture (P&C) systems. Your role will involve analyzing system requirements, troubleshooting technical issues, and implementing system enhancements to ensure efficient operation of P&C processes. You will work closely with P&C professionals to understand their needs, translate them into system requirements, and provide ongoing support. Your expertise will contribute to the smooth running of P&C operations, improving the user experience for employees and enabling the P&C team to deliver excellent service. This role requires strong technical skills, a deep understanding of P&C processes, and the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Day to day you'll...
  • Responsible for the functionality, performance, and support of assigned People & Culture systems, including Workday HCM, Talent Acquisition, Timekeeping, and Learning Management platforms.
  • Develop and maintain a strong understanding of P&C business needs, translating requirements into clear system objectives and deliverables while building effective partnerships across People & Culture and IT.
  • Manage day-to-day system operations, including routine functional maintenance, configuration updates, testing, and troubleshooting activities.
  • Plan, develop, and execute test cycles for regular patches, quarterly releases, system enhancements, and other updates, including preparing end-user guides, process documentation, and communications for impacted stakeholders.
  • Serve as the Tier 3 Functional Expert by collaborating with the People Resource Center or support teams, providing documentation, FAQs, and guidance to resolve complex user inquiries or issues.
  • Support recurring and seasonal business activities, including executing business processes, performing mass transactions, configuring annual events, and managing regularly scheduled system changes.
  • Maintain knowledge of system roadmaps and industry trends, contributing to and participating in system improvements, enhancements, and new functionality. Partner with vendors to align platform capabilities with business priorities.
  • Participate in cross-functional projects ranging from small enhancements to large system implementations, ensuring processes and solutions align with P&C system functionality and business requirements.
  • Contribute to knowledge transfer and team capability, including preparing documentation, training new team members, and coordinating with vendors to ensure delivery on commitments

What you'll bring to the team...

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and related work experience
  • 1-3 years' experience supporting TA systems, Workday HCM Core processes or similar People & Culture systems
  • Knowledge of Talent Acquisition or People & Culture operations with demonstrated ability to manage projects from planning through implementation
  • HRIS reporting and testing experience

It would be even better if you also had...

  • Knowledge of technical planning and testing tools
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and related productivity or planning tools
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and within diverse, collaborative teams
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to present complex information to various audiences.
