Job Description: Senior Design Engineer

Department/BU: Residential and Light Commercial Scroll

Location: Pune, India

Reporting Manager: Prashant Mogal

Position Summary:

Senior Engineer - Design, is responsible for supporting the design-oriented activities/projects. Ensure contribution in achieving organization goals through delivering the design priorities on time and with best quality output. Role involves design activities including concept development, basic engineering and analytical calculations. The position demands strong analytical capability, deep fundamentals in mechanical design engineering and ability to independently deliver projects with minimal supervision. Close collaborate with cross-functional teams like NPD, Project Engineering, Analysis, Suppliers, Manufacturing, etc. to deliver design requirements & efficient & cost-effective solutions is required.

Project management skills and understanding the importance of schedule adherence and alignment with team and organization goals.

Responsibilities

Manage and lead TRL, Advance Tech. projects, clearly understanding the requirements, defining scope, preparing project plan, forming project team, preparing & managing project schedule and ensure effective delivery.

Perform analytical/design calculations related to component & compressor design - component design considering different manufacturing aspects & analysis study



Concept generation - Develop & inspire team to generate new design concepts helping improving product efficiency & meet product design specifications.



Convert ideas/thoughts into 3d models using CAD (Nx) - meeting design requirements for production, proto build, FEA, etc. material selection & proposal with effective manufacturing and assembly procedures for competitive products.



Collaborate & Co-ordinate design activities and maintain efficient communication with different stake holders & teams across the globe - Design, NPD, Project Engineering, Advance Manufacturing, Scroll machining, Analysis, Suppliers, Reliability, Quality, Plant etc.



Plan design reviews, quality checks, knowledge sharing. Prepare detail project reports



Design support to development of next generation technologies.



Initiate, lead, support Kaizen and other activities for continuous improvement

Skills & Qualification

M.E./M. Tech. (Design) with 3-5 years of experience. (preferably in HVAC)



Deep understanding of design principles (thermal & structural), materials, mechanical systems and fluid dynamics



Strong knowledge of engineering drawings & dimensioning (GD&T), performing tolerance analysis, basic engineering calculations, design layouts, etc. good knowledge of material science & machine design and manufacturing processes.

Proficiency in structural design/thermal design, design compliance



Excellent in written & verbal communication & collaboration skills.



Capable to work independently and in teams with cross functional teams



Experience in design of compressors or rotating machines & related analytical calculations

Added Advantage with:

Hands on experience on CAD (Nx) & drafting

FEA, CFD understanding

Knowledge of engineering tools like DFMEA/DFMA/DOE

Knowledge of HVAC
