Detailed Job Description:
Experienced Apigee Platform Architect to design, implement, and manage enterprise API Gateway and integration solutions. Responsible for API lifecycle, security, governance, and large-scale API platform modernization.
Key Responsibilities
Architecture & Design
• Design scalable API Gateway architecture using Apigee (Edge/X)
• Define API lifecycle standards (design, versioning, security, governance)
• Architect solutions for:
o REST APIs and microservices
o Backend integrations (cloud/on-prem systems)
• Establish API security frameworks (OAuth, JWT, API keys, rate limiting)
Platform Implementation
• Lead development of:
o API proxies
o Policies (security, traffic management, transformation)
• Configure API monitoring, analytics, and logging
• Ensure seamless integration with backend services and systems
Governance & Optimization
• Define naming conventions and API governance policies
• Ensure reuse, standardization, and consistency across APIs
• Monitor API performance and drive optimization initiatives
• Enable API cataloging and documentation
Integration & Automation
• Integrate Apigee with:
o CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, Jenkins)
o Identity providers (SSO, IAM)
• Support automation using APIs and scripting
Required Qualifications
• 8+ years experience in API development & management
• Strong expertise in Apigee (Edge/X)
• Experience in:
o API lifecycle management
o Security policies (OAuth/JWT)
o REST and microservices architecture
• Strong integration and problem-solving skills
