We are seeking an experienced PeopleSoft Solutions Architect to support a major enterprise HR systems upgrade initiative. This consultant will serve as the senior technical authority responsible for aligning business process design with platform capabilities within the PeopleSoft HCM environment.
This role will partner closely with Business Systems Analysts, technical teams, and functional stakeholders to evaluate system functionality, rationalize customizations, and guide solution design as the organization transitions to a modernized PeopleSoft platform.

Key Responsibilities
Solution Architecture & Platform Advisory
- Serve as the senior technical subject matter expert on PeopleSoft HCM 9.2.
- Provide architectural guidance aligned to platform best practices.
- Translate business requirements into scalable system solutions.
Out-of-Box vs Customization Analysis
- Evaluate existing customizations against delivered functionality.
- Categorize solutions into:
- Customizations that can be retired (now out-of-box).
- New out-of-box features that should be adopted.
- Customizations that must be retained.
- Recommend optimization strategies to reduce technical debt.
Process & Functional Alignment
- Partner with Business Systems Analysts facilitating process discovery.
- Assess whether documented workflows are supported natively.
- Provide design alternatives where gaps exist.
Technical Design & Feasibility
- Advise on configuration, extension, and integration approaches.
- Define system design patterns supporting HR operations.
- Ensure alignment with PeopleTools framework and upgrade path.
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Work cross-functionally with:
- HR functional leaders
- IT delivery teams
- Automation and integration teams
- Participate in design workshops and working sessions.
Upgrade & Transformation Support
- Guide technical decisions tied to the platform upgrade.
- Identify opportunities to leverage new features in PUM 53.
- Support roadmap planning for future releases and tool upgrades.
Optional Hands-On Contribution (Nice to Have)
- Provide technical development support if needed.
- Review code, configurations, and system modifications.
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of PeopleSoft experience, with deep HCM specialization.
- Demonstrated architecture-level expertise in PeopleSoft 9.2.
- Strong knowledge of PeopleTools 8.6x framework.
- Experience supporting enterprise PeopleSoft upgrades or transformations.
- Proven ability to rationalize customizations vs delivered functionality.
- Experience working alongside BSAs on process-driven initiatives.
- Strong stakeholder communication and advisory skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with PUM upgrade cycles and image management.
- Background in HR process domains (Core HR, Benefits, Payroll, Talent).
- Integration experience (APIs, middleware, third-party HR systems).
- Prior healthcare industry experience (nice to have).
- Exposure to automation or workflow orchestration tools.
